ഇരുപതാം നൂറ്റാണ്ട് എന്ന പഴയ ചിത്രത്തിലെ നായകന് സാഗറിനെ കേന്ദ്രീകരിച്ചാണ് സാഗര് ഏലിയാസ് ജാക്കി Reloaded എന്ന അമല് നീരദിന്റെ രണ്ടാം ചിത്രം ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. സാഗറിനെ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് മോഹന്ലാല് തന്നെ. പഴയ ചിത്രത്തില് നിന്ന് ജഗതിയേയും ഒപ്പം കൂട്ടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
ഒരാളെ തട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പോകും, സാഗര് മോചിപ്പിക്കും. അപ്പോള് വേറൊരുത്തനെ തട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പോകും, സാഗര് മോചിപ്പിക്കും. അപ്പോള് സാഗറിനെ വധിക്കാന് തട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോകലുകാരന് ശ്രമിക്കും, പരാജയപ്പെടും. അതോടെ തട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോകലുകാരനും സാഗറും ഊഴമിട്ട് അങ്ങോട്ടും ഇങ്ങോട്ടും കുറേ പേരെ കൊല്ലും. ഇടയ്ക്കൊക്കെ ഇത്തിരി മാത്രം വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച സ്ത്രീകള് സ്ക്രീനില് വന്നുപോകും. പിന്നെ, സംഗീതോപകരണങ്ങളുടെ അകമ്പടിയോടെ എന്തൊക്കെയോ ബഹളങ്ങള് കേള്പ്പിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. (പാട്ടുകളാണ് ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചതെന്നു തോന്നുന്നു!) കഴിഞ്ഞു; ഇത്രയേയുള്ളു സിനിമ.
PLUSES
അമല് നീരദിന് അറിയാവുന്ന പണി അദ്ദേഹം നന്നായി ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്; ഛായാഗ്രഹണം. ഈ സിനിമയില് ശ്രദ്ധേയമായി എന്തെങ്കിലും ഉണ്ടെങ്കില് അത് അമലിന്റെ ക്യാമറയും ലൊക്കേഷനുകളുടെ സൌന്ദര്യവുമാണ്. എഡിറ്ററും നന്നായി ജോലി ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. ബിക്കിനിയിട്ട വിദേശവനിതകള് നിറഞ്ഞ ബീച്ച് ഷോട്ടുകളും ജ്യോതിര്മയിയുടെ അര്ധനഗ്ന നൃത്തവും അത്തരം കാഴ്ചകളില് താല്പര്യമുള്ളവരെ ചെറുതായി ഒന്ന് സമാധാനിപ്പിക്കും.
MINUSES
ഓര്ത്തു വയ്ക്കാവുന്ന ഒന്നുമില്ല ഈ ചിത്രത്തില്. മലയാളത്തിലെ എക്കാലത്തെയും മികച്ച അഭിനേതാക്കളില് പെടുന്ന നെടുമുടി വേണു, ശോഭന, മോഹന്ലാല് തുടങ്ങിയവര് ഈ ചിത്രത്തിലുണ്ടെങ്കിലും അവര്ക്ക് ഒന്നും ചെയ്യാനില്ല. ഒരു കുഞ്ഞിനേയും കൊണ്ട് അങ്ങോട്ടും ഇങ്ങോട്ടും നടക്കുകയാണ് ശോഭനയ്ക്ക് ആകെയുള്ള ജോലി; ഒന്നു രണ്ട് ഫോണ്കോളുകള് ചെയ്യാനുമുണ്ട്. ഞാനെന്തു ചെയ്യാന് എന്ന ഭാവത്തില് വെറുതെ ഇരിക്കുന്ന പണിയേ നെടുമുടിക്കുള്ളു. നന്നായി വേഷം കെട്ടിയിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നല്ലാതെ, നായകവേഷം ചെയ്ത മോഹന്ലാലിന്റെ അഭിനയത്തേക്കുറിച്ചു പോലും നല്ലതൊന്നും പറയാനില്ല. (സ്വന്തം പഴയ ചിത്രങ്ങള് സമയം കിട്ടുമ്പോള് ഇട്ടു കാണുന്നത് ലാലിനു ഗുണം ചെയ്യും.) നായിക ഭാവനയുടെ കാര്യവും അങ്ങനെയൊക്കെ തന്നെ. (ഇരുപതാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടില് അംബിക ചെയ്ത കഥാപാത്രത്തിന്റെ ഒരു മോശം കോപ്പി മാത്രമാണ് ഭാവനയുടെ ആരതി എന്ന മാധ്യമപ്രവര്ത്തക. )
ഒരു സിനിമയ്ക്ക് അടിസ്ഥാനപരമായി വേണ്ട രണ്ടു കാര്യങ്ങളുണ്ട്: കൊള്ളാവുന്ന ഒരു പ്ലോട്ടും അതിനു പടര്ന്നുകയറാന് ആദിയും മധ്യവും അന്ത്യവും ഒത്തിണങ്ങിയ ഒരു സംഭവപരമ്പരയും. ഈ രണ്ടു കാര്യങ്ങളും അടുത്തുകൂടെ പോലും പോകാത്ത ചിത്രമാണ് സാഗര് ഏലിയാസ് ജാക്കി Reloaded. ബിഗ് ബിയില് ഒപ്പിച്ചതു പോലെ വല്ല ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് സിനിമയും അടിച്ചു മാറ്റുന്നതായിരുന്നു ഇതിലും ഭേദം.

10/10 marks to camera, editing,location,songs,shots..but 2/10 to screenplay

Malayalees never agree with a film with technical brilliance but without a Story having start and end
Its a gud movie. If u liked Big B then this is a must watch. Very stylish and very new approach. The music is pretty gud as well. Lalettan is too gud. Dont evr compare with Red Chillies and Love In Singapore.
I was pretty impressed with mamukkas performance in Big B. But after watching this movie i felt, lalettan wud hve been a better choice for the role of Bilal in Big B.

Sagar Alias Jacky is a very nice film with some good camera work and technical skill.SAJ have all sorts of contents for a perfect entertainer. I have gone to the theaters without much expectations.Mohan Lal’s introduction was wondefull.
The punch dialogue just before the interval was exciting and the first half was crusing through very fast.By the second half some twist came into the film related with manoj k jayan.The second half was a bit slow compared to the first half.Songs were good..most of the times after Mohan Lal falls into silence,he comes back with a bang with punch dialogues & terifiic fight scenes.
I feel Amal Neerad have worked brilliantly with this normal story.There is nothing to say about story..and i feel eventhough it was an ordinary story..amal have exploited it and done what he knows. SAJ is an good Entertainer.

I think you have not seen the movie or somebody have told the story to you and then you wrote the review. What you expect from a gangster movie. Are you expecting some thing like serials in which hero have 2 – 3 wives or heroin have one child and whole serial searching for the same child . What should shobhana and nedumudi should do other than the story ask them to do. First you should keep in mind that it’s not family story of SAJ. Director cannot say all the life history of Nedumidi, Shoshanna, or bhava. Its only 2.5 hrs story not serial which have 1000 episode.
You might have your own opinion but when you review some creativity you also should have some sense and imagination and should understand what the director try to portrait. What story you expect from underworld gangs. Do you expect in beach ladies with churidar and saree or prada. Do you expect violin melody bg score when gang war going on.
I f you don’t understand or don’t like the music don’t tell that it only some sound heard not the song.
Don’t think that I am mohanlal fan but last week I red you review and I decided to not go for this film but unfortunately I got one ticket . After I watched the film I thought that I will request you to stop this job or reviewing films.
If you have seen this movie in tamil , hindi or English you might have given 9-10 marks . that’s malyalee.

സാജ് റീലിസായി ദിവസങ്ങള്ക്കകം ഹരിഹര് നഗര് റിലീസായി. അതു ഞാന് ആദ്യ ദിവസം തന്നെ കണ്ടു. സിനിമ കഴിഞ്ഞ് തിയേറ്ററിനു പുറത്തു കടക്കാന് ഒരു മണിക്കൂര് എടുത്തു. അതേ സമയം അടുത്ത തിയേറ്ററില് സാജ് കാണാന് വിരലില് എണ്ണാവുന്നവര് മാത്രം. അതില് നിന്ന് ആരാധകര് പോലും സാജ് കണ്ടിട്ടില്ലെന്ന് വ്യക്തമാണ്. കോട്ടയത്ത് മൂന്നു തിയേറ്ററിലാണ് സാജ് റിലീസ് ചെയ്തത്. മൂന്നാം ദിവസം അത് ഒരു തിയേറ്ററിലായി ചുരുങ്ങി. അതേ സമയം ഒരു ആരവും ഡപ്പാംകൂത്തുമില്ലാതെ ഒരു തിയേറ്ററില് റിലീസ് ചെയ്ത ഹരിഹര്നഗര് ഇപ്പോള് 3 തിയേറ്ററിലുണ്ട്. ആരാധകര് വെറുതെ സാജിന് അനുകൂലമായി പറയാതെ അതൊന്ന് തിയേറ്ററില് പോയി കണ്ട് നോക്ക്. പിന്നെ ഒന്നും മിണ്ടില്ല.
ഒരു സിനിമയ്ക്ക് പ്രെക്ഷകന്റെ സാമാന്യ ബുധിക്കു നിരക്കുന്ന ഒരു കഥ വേണം… അല്ലാതെ സൂപര് സ്റ്റാരിന് ഷൈന് ചെയ്യന് വേന്ഡി കഥ ഉന്ഡാക്കുക….അതാണ് ഈ സിനിമയ്ക്ക് പറ്റിയത്… ഫാന്സുകരെ രസിപ്പിക്കന് വേണ്ഡി ലൊജിക്കില്ലാത്ത കഥ……. style മാത്രം കാനാന് ആരും സിനിമ കാനാരില്ല…..

If any one has noticed…only viewable/ enjoyable films recently has been from actors except these 2 guys….I am still surprised how the producers are still taking their risk with these two…Really ‘SURPRISING’ !!! Also the recent trend in creating huge hype before the release and simultaneous release is just a marketing trick to claim maximum benefits….it doesn’t guarantee any good cinema….’DISGUSTING”…
Most funnniest part here its, Asianet showed SAJ in their program ‘Hits Bazar’ in last sunday(April 26). Ivarokke areyaa ee pottanmarakunne. Ravanaprabhuvum Vamanapuravum azhchathorum odippikkunna ivarithalla athinappuravum cheyyum.

A question to Amal Neerad: Why dont you try for “Ithikkara Pakki Reloaded” now?
I am sure that Lal will be there with his dates for it! Just keep in mind that,for the last 2.5 decades, we are seeing the same directors and same style.We are having lot of expectations from youngsters like you.Try to do some home work and know the pulse of audience. Director turned Lal/Madhupal know this well!

It seems that G.K Murthy , the Critic is not having any sense about cinema… I don’t feel that SAJ is a great movie.. But at the same time it’s an offbeat action movie for malayalam…Stylish in Action and attitude… But Mr. Murthy according to you it’s 3/10 for SAJ . At the same time rated one of the worst movies malayalam had ever seen MOZ & CAT 4/10….
