മൈ ഡിയര് കുട്ടിച്ചാത്തന്, ഉണ്ണികളേ ഒരു കഥ പറയാം, സാക്ഷാല് ശ്രീമാന് ചാത്തുണ്ണി തുടങ്ങിയ പല സിനിമകളില് നിന്നായി (കുട്ടികളെയും മുതിര്ന്നവരെയും രസിപ്പിക്കുന്ന) കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളും കഥാസന്ദര്ഭങ്ങളും തോണ്ടിയെടുത്ത് കുട്ടികള് ഒരിക്കലും കാണാന് പാടില്ലാത്ത കൊലപാതകവും വയലന്സും നിറഞ്ഞ ഒരു കഥയില് കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്ത്ത് നിര്മിച്ച സിനിമയാണ് ഈ പട്ടണത്തില് ഭൂതം.
സര്ക്കസ് ഉടമ ഫിലിപ്പോസിനെ (ജനാര്ദനന്) കൊലപ്പെടുത്തിയതിന്റെ പേരില് ജയിലിലാണ് ബൈക്ക് ജംബര് ജിമ്മി (മമ്മൂട്ടി). ജിമ്മിയുടെ കൂട്ടാളികളായ കൃഷ്ണേട്ടനും (ഇന്നസെന്റ്) ശിശുപാലനും (സുരാജ് വെഞ്ഞാറമൂട്) ഒരു പറ്റം കുട്ടികളും സര്ക്കസ് ടെന്റില് പീഢിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ഇതിനിടെ ഫിലിപ്പോസിന്റെ മകള് ആന്സി (കാവ്യ മാധവന്) സര്ക്കസിന്റെ ചുമതലക്കാരിയായി എത്തുന്നു. ജിമ്മിയുടെ നിരപരാധിത്വം ആന്സിയെ ബോധ്യപ്പെടുത്താന് കൃഷ്ണേട്ടന് കഴിയുന്നു. അതിനു സഹായിക്കുന്നത് നല്ലവനായ ഒരു ഭൂതം (മമ്മൂട്ടി). ഭൂതവും ജിമ്മിയും ചേര്ന്ന് യഥാര്ഥ കുറ്റവാളികളെ കുടുക്കിലാക്കുന്നു. ഭൂതത്തെ പിടികൂടാന് വരുന്ന മന്ത്രവാദിയും(മഹാദേവന്) അതിനൊപ്പം കുടുങ്ങുന്നു.
PLUSES
ഒന്നു ചിരിക്കാനുള്ള ചിലതൊക്കെ ഈ ചിത്രത്തിലുണ്ട്. സലിം കുമാറിന്റെ മാധവന് പൊലീസും സുരാജിന്റെ ശിശുപാലനും മമ്മൂട്ടിയുടെ ഭൂതവും ഇടയ്ക്കൊക്കെ ചിരിപ്പിക്കും. അജയകുമാറിന്റെ (ഉണ്ടപ്പക്രു) പ്രകടനവും എടുത്തു പറയേണ്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു. തുടക്കത്തിലുള്ള സര്ക്കസ് രംഗങ്ങള് കുട്ടികള്ക്ക് രസിക്കും. ഗാനങ്ങളും കുട്ടികള്ക്ക് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടാതിരിക്കില്ല. വലിഞ്ഞിഴയുന്ന ഒരു സിനിമയല്ല എന്നത് മുതിര്ന്നവര്ക്ക് ആശ്വാസകരമായി തോന്നും.
MINUSES
മാതാപിതാക്കള്ക്കൊപ്പമല്ലാതെ കുട്ടികള് കാണാന് പാടില്ലാത്ത ചിത്രമാണിത്. ക്രൂരതയും അക്രമങ്ങളും അത്രയ്ക്കധികമാണ്. കൊച്ചു കുട്ടികള് പേടിച്ചരണ്ട് കണ്ണു പൊത്തുന്ന പല സീനുകളും ഇതിലുണ്ട്. (മലയാളത്തിലെ ഒട്ടുമിക്ക സിനിമകളുടെയും അവസ്ഥ ഇതു തന്നെയാണെങ്കിലും കുട്ടികളുടെ സിനിമയാണ് ഈ പട്ടണത്തില് ഭൂതം എന്ന് പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതുകൊണ്ടാണ് ഇക്കാര്യം എടുത്തു പറയുന്നത്.) ഭൂതത്തിന്റെ ശബ്ദം പലപ്പോഴും അരോചകമാണ്. സുരാജിന്റെ തമാശകള് പലതും കുട്ടികളെ കേള്പ്പിക്കാന് കൊള്ളുന്നതല്ല. (കുളി കാണാന് പോകലും അപ്പനെ പട്ടിണിക്കിട്ട് കൊല്ലലുമൊക്കെ ഉദാഹരണം.)

പതിറ്റാണ്ടുകള്ക്കു മുന്പ് മലയാളമറിയാവുന്നവരെയൊക്കെ പ്രായഭേദമന്യേ രസിപ്പിച്ച ചിത്രമാണ് മൈ ഡിയര് കുട്ടിച്ചാത്തന്; മലയാളസിനിമയിലെ എക്കാലത്തെയും വലിയ വിജയങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണ് ഈ കുട്ടികളുടെ ചിത്രം. ഫാന്റസി പോലും ഒരു യുക്തിയുടെ വെളിച്ചത്തിലാണ് അവതരിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതെന്നു കാണിച്ച ഈ മനോഹരമായ സിനിമ കുട്ടികളുടെ സിനിമ മുതിര്ന്നവരെയും രസിപ്പിക്കുമെന്ന് തെളിയിക്കുയും ചെയ്തു. മൈ ഡിയര് കുട്ടിച്ചാത്തന്റെ രഹസ്യം മനസ്സിലാക്കാനുള്ള ബുദ്ധി നിര്ഭാഗ്യവശാല് ഈ പട്ടണത്തില് ഭൂതം ഒരുക്കിയവര്ക്ക് ഉണ്ടായില്ല.

ക്രൂരമായ കൊലപാതകരംഗവും ഭീകരമായ വയലന്സും നിറഞ്ഞ ഈ ചിത്രത്തെ (സര്ക്കസ് ടെന്റിലെയും ഭിക്ഷാടന ക്യാംപിലെയും പീഢനങ്ങളും സ്പെഷ്യല് ഇഫക്റ്റുകളുടെ അകമ്പടിയുള്ള സംഘട്ടന രംഗങ്ങളും ഓര്ക്കുക) കുട്ടികള്ക്കുള്ള സിനിമ എന്ന മട്ടില് മാര്ക്കറ്റ് ചെയ്യാന്ശ്രമിക്കുന്നതിനെതിരെ കടുത്ത പ്രതിഷേധം ഉയരേണ്ടതാണ്. ജീവിതത്തില് അച്ഛന്റെയും മുത്തച്ഛന്റെയും സ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ വിലയറിഞ്ഞിട്ടുള്ള, മമ്മൂട്ടിയെപ്പോലെ മഹാനായ ഒരു നടന് ഇതിനു കൂട്ടു നില്ക്കുന്നത് അങ്ങേയറ്റം ഞെട്ടിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

മൈ ഡിയര് കുട്ടിച്ചാത്തന് എന്ന സിനിമ 25 കൊല്ലം മുന്പ് കുട്ടികളെ രസിപ്പിച്ചതിന്റെ പത്തില് ഒന്ന് പോലും ചെയ്യാന് ഈ സിനിമക്കു കഴിയുന്നില്ല. അപ്പോള് ജോണി ആന്റണി ഇപ്പോഴും 25 കൊല്ലം പിറകില് ആണെന്ന് അര്ഥം. പറ്റാത്ത പണിക്കു നില്ക്കണമായിരുന്നോ?

A logic less movie with lots of humour. A simple script well directed to make a festival mood movie. Splendid acting performance by Mammootty as Bhootham, graphics effects and Suraj’s comedies stand out. A must be watched for all families with small children because they are going to love Bhootham. The crew could have gone for a better story. But hats of to them for going for a different theme.

May be becouse i dont like mammootty, i felt its a flop show all over. I went for the movie just cos of my friend. Oh my GOD! Mammootty… as usal overacting, trying to act smart, trying to prove his flexibility, but failed badly, mammootty should know his limitations and hold back himself. what de hell is johny trying to say in this film? Pathetic… rly pathetic…
I think “Anil” didn’t read all reviews from other sites, because almost all sites reviewed(web dunia, chithra visesham, rediff news etc.) that this is not good movie,it is very boring, I saw ystdy i don’t think this movie is for kids, G. K. Murthy’s review is absalutly right…

ഈ പടം ഞാന് രണ്ടാം ദിവസം കാണാന് പോയതാണ്. ആളു തീരെ കുറവ്. അപ്പോള് ഫാന്സ് ഒക്കെ സിനിമ സൂപ്പറാണെന്നു പറയുന്നത് പോസ്റ്റര് മാത്രം കണ്ടിട്ടാണെന്നു വ്യക്തം.
മലയാളത്തെ പോലെ ശക്തമായ കഥയും പ്രമേയങ്ങളും അരങ്ങുവാണിരുന്ന ഒരു ഭാഷയില് ഇതുപോലൊരു ചിത്രം അസഹനീയം തന്നെ…അതും ഹൃദയസ്പര്ശിയായ വളരെയധികം കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളെ അന്വശരമാക്കിയ ഒരു കലാകാരന്

Good children’s movies have always amazed me, be it chota chetan or Mr.India or even the Innocent starrer Sakshal sreeman Chatthuny. But that is not the case with the latest pattanathil Bhutham. Jhony antony has ditched out a juvenile attempt similar to vivek sharma’s Bhoothnath or even worse ‘Bhoot unkle’.I t is sad to see a National Award winning actor like Mammooty resorting to such Buffoonery on screen.
The saddest part is that ‘though the film is targeted at children it s not even free of violence,double meaning undertones ( for instance,the character played by suraj tells INNOCENT in a scene,” IF it were shakeela,then yu wudnt hav mind seeing her”.!) Tell me,do our kinds really know who Shakeela is?!!!!
There is not even an aota of originality in the story line.It’s cliched ,predictable and bland most of the time….Mammootty as the good hearted genie is annoying with his mannerisms and has an equally irritating voice…The only saving grace of the movie is the loud ‘ and often crass jokes by Suraj.The EFX is decent.Kavya has nothing much to do.Songs especially the ” maamarangale..” is hummable.The movie mite have hit the bulls eye at the box office and mite have noble intentions ,but will easily go down as one of the worst movies made in the history of malayalam cinema and it makes Ivar Vivahitharayal,BhagyaDevatha,winter or even the kids films like Saakshal sreeman chathunny look like classics!

NOT WORTH IT! SURMISES THE REVIEW. MAMOOTTY IS A GOOD ACTOR FOR SELECTIVE ROLES BUT HERE HE IS SIMPLY WASTED ESP AS BHOOTHAM. MOVIE COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF UNDAPAKRU WAS CAST AS BHOOTAM. GRAPHICS ARE OUTSTANDING FOR A MALAYALAM MOVIE. MAMMOOTTY THE ACTOR WHO GAVE US THANIAVARTHANAM, VADAKKAN VEERAGATHA, YATRA ETC IS SIMPLY WASTED HERE… WISH HIM MORE MEATY ROLES IN FUTURE. THOUGH HE DOES LOOK A LOT YOUNGER IN THE FILM.
