അപ്പനും അമ്മയും ഏഴു പെണ്മക്കളും അടങ്ങുന്ന ചെറിയ സന്തുഷ്ടകുടുംബമായിരുന്നു ഞങ്ങളുടേത്. അപ്പനായിരുന്നു ഞങ്ങളുടെ വീട്ടിലെ ഒരേയൊരു ആണ്തരി. വര്ഷങ്ങള് ആരേയും കാത്തുനില്ക്കാതെ വേഗം കടന്നുപോയി. അപ്പനും അമ്മയും ഞങ്ങളെ വിട്ടുപോയി. സഹോദരിമാരെല്ലാം കുടുംബസ്ഥരായി. സ്കൂള് അവധിയുളള ദിവസങ്ങളില് അമ്മയുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് അടുക്കളയില് ഓരോരോ വിഭവങ്ങള് അമ്മ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നത് കൊതിയോടെ ഞാന് നോക്കിനില്ക്കുമായിരുന്നു. എന്റെ അമ്മയ്ക്ക് അന്ന് അടുക്കളയില് ഒരു റേഡിയോ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
അതില് കൂടി ആകാശവാണി പ്രക്ഷേപണം ചെയ്യുന്ന നാടകഗാനങ്ങള് ഇന്നും ഞാന് ഓര്ക്കുന്നു. അതില് എന്റെ ശ്രദ്ധ പതിഞ്ഞ ഒരു പാട്ടാണ് മധുരിക്കും ഓര്മകളെ,മലര്മഞ്ചല് കൊണ്ടുവരൂ….. ഇന്നു ഞാന് തിരിഞ്ഞുനോക്കുമ്പോള് ആ പാട്ടിന് അര്ത്ഥവും മധുരവും കൂടിയതുപോലെ. ഓര്മ്മയുടെ മഞ്ചലില് എനിക്ക് എന്റെ ബാല്യത്തിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങാന് പറ്റിയെങ്കില്! എന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ മടിയില് കിടന്ന് ആ പാട്ട് ഒന്നു കൂടി കേള്ക്കാന് കഴിഞ്ഞെങ്കില്! ഇടനെഞ്ചില് താളമോടെ, നെടുവീര്പ്പിന് മൂളലോടെ ഇന്ന് ഓര്മ്മയിലെ ആ ഈണം എന്റെ മനസ്സില് ഉണര്ത്തുന്നത് എന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ, അപ്പന്റെ, സഹോദരിമാരുടെ, ഒരിക്കലും തിരിച്ചുവരാത്ത ആ നല്ല ബാല്യത്തിന്റെയൊക്കെ ഓര്മ്മകളുടെ സത്താണ്.
ഒ.എന്.വി കുറിപ്പിന്റെ ജീവനുളള കവിതക്ക് ദേവരാജന് മാസ്റ്ററുടെ അനശ്വരമായ ഈണം കൂടിയായപ്പോള് ജനനി ജന്മഭൂമി എന്ന നാടകത്തില് സി ഒ ആന്റോ പാടിയ മധുരിക്കും ഓര്മ്മകളെ എന്ന പാട്ട് കാലത്തിന്റെ കുത്തിയൊഴുക്കുകളെ അതിജീവിക്കുന്ന മനോഹരമായ ഒരു പാട്ടായി മാറി. എന്റെ ഓര്മ്മകളുടെ പുസ്തകത്തിലെ ബഹുവര്ണ്ണമുളള ഒരു മയില്പ്പീലിയായും.

What a fantastic imagination ! I never got a chance to lie down on my mom`s laps and listen this wonderful love song, even though I was one among the siblings, the Great Author mentioned. But now I feel I missed it a lot. The Author didn`t let me to do it, I think. It`s a beautiful song which takes all of us to our childhood, where we had our “manchuvadu”.
